Handmade Coffee Cups
A coffee-sized take on our iconic Everyday handmade mugs, our short coffee cups are thrown on a traditional potter’s wheel with fine British stoneware, part of our Everyday tableware range which is decorated with joyfully tactile thumb dents that entice the holder to discover and interact with it.
Merging functionality with expressive pieces of art, the collection began as a sculptural investigation, an attempt to capture the sensuality of the human form while exploring the fluid shapes and multitude of surfaces that are possible in clay. A tonal palette of satin matt glaze on the exterior and practical glossy glaze within increases the desire to touch and traverse its textures and contours, with each short cup encouraging an intimate connection to the ritual of tea and coffee drinking and the memories it conjures.
Our hand thrown pottery mugs are individually made by Emma in our North London studio and have been featured in The Great British Bake Off and The Great Pottery Throwdown as well as British Vogue, ELLE Decoration, House and Garden, Stylist and Livingetc magazines.
