Rainbow Collection

Overlapping glossy and matt glazes invite you to run your fingers across the contrasting surfaces. The textured clay, which is exposed at the bottom of the mug and imprinted with our back-stamp, adds another opportunity to explore the object through touch. A generous handle and simple geometric form offers functionality without flourish.

The matt colour palette is inspired by colours in nature or the muted tones of raw materials; black basalt, chalk, aqua or rose quartz.  If you look closely at where the two glazes collide, you can see how the glossy glaze fluxes and moves breaking into areas of transparency.

Rigorous and lengthy testing has been applied in the development of this glazing technique yet the kiln and minerals in the material still deliver surprises. Each piece will be truly unique due to the reactions of the glazes in the kiln.
